Building Resilient Communities

Building Resilient Communities

Communities in Northern Uganda continue to experience deep challenges due to poverty, past conflict, and poor access to services. This cross-cutting project supports vulnerable households through a range of interventions that promote resilience and dignity.

The project provides essential relief to families during food crises, especially in drought-affected areas. It also supports long-term behavioral change through training in parenting, mental wellness, and peaceful conflict resolution. Community meetings and safe spaces facilitate open discussions on sensitive issues such as domestic violence, early marriage, and child abuse. Referrals are made to relevant services where needed. This initiative helps build more informed, inclusive, and self-reliant communities.

Focus Areas:

  • Emergency food assistance during droughts

  • Positive parenting education

  • Mental health awareness and psychosocial support

  • Community sensitization on gender-based violence and child protection
